Yummy Indian Dinner… satisfied tummy…flatulent Benny

August 1st, 2005 by meleo

woohooooo finally I don’t have ta work on Sundays from this semester on! What a relief. I’m just sick of missing out on all those weekend activities. I use to work on both Saturday and Sundays. Not that I work the entire 24 hours, but I’m just so burn out that I hardly have any left for anything else.

Oh oh back to my topic! Went over to sweet Jeff and Toddy’s place for din din yesterday night. FREE DIN DIN!!!!! I made my little contribution of, "five spice chicken", but that is nothing compared to what awaits us. Jeff cooked up a real feast! yeah FEAST! We had yummy Egg plant, which was my personal favourite, curry fish, chicken, lamb, pork and some chili thingie. I’m sure I missed out something coz there was just too much for me to even sample a little of each. Damn I hate my little tummy. keke I tried eating as much as I could coz they all smell and look so good. Oh believe me, they taste just as fab. *thumbs up! Initially I was really skeptical about white boy cooking Indian, BUT this was out of the world. I’m impressed! Though I was famished and we only gotta eat at 10pm, it was well worth the wait.

After din din it was a little bit of a blur for me….coz all I remembered was hell loads of laughter! So much that my cheek really cramped. Hey this is no joke coz it really hurts k! Watching Jeff, Brad and Scott play the drinking game was the best! hahahaha The more they drink, the funnier it gets. Poor Jeff just could not get it.

I was flat out by the time I got home. Didn’t realise how time flies. After washing up and stuff I was lying in bed for a while. Tired as I was, I did not sleep till like an hour of flipping about in bed. It could be Benny’s annoying farting spree. Actually…… I blame it on that. *giggles Those Indian spices are nasty man! It was shock and awe throughout the entire night!

Yeah it was a great night. Filled with good food, fun and laughter. Special thanks to Jeff the chef, Todd and the others who were present, who contributed to the fun.

What’s going on???

July 16th, 2005 by meleo

The sweet thing is…. nothing much is going on, that’s why I’ve been so quiet. Just busy with the daily routine of wake up, make lunch, play The SIMS, feed Felix, play some more, go work, eat dinner, sometimes make dinner if I don’t work, play more of the SIMS and sleep. Oh not forgeting spending time with my love. I guess this is life, can’t expect it to be on a high all the time. I’m just counting my blessings for having a peace of mind, if you know what I mean.

Holiday seem far too short. Next week uni starts. Luckily my time table isn’t too bad with only three days of uni which leaves me four days off for work and other stuff. Hopefully more time on studies, for better results this semester. keke Not that I had not done well this semester. I had two distinctions (one of them almost a high D! Damn! Just a nose away.) and the other two units are satisfactory. I know I could do better, but I shall not whinge coz I don’t think I had given a 100% as I should have *grinz. Slacking too much perhaps?

I’m looking forward to the new sem, but the thought of the hafty uni fees that’s due soon gives me a bad headache. Oh well, I shall not go there. Hope everyone in Singapore is doing well and in good health. I miss ya. For those reading this blog entry…. take care.

Moreton Island Escapade

July 7th, 2005 by meleo

Sun_and_beach Time really flies when I’m enjoying myself. The four days at Overcast_2Moreton Island seem to fly by in a blink.

Moreton is the third largest sand island in the world. The first being Fraser, which I had been to couple of years back, and the second is Straddy. Saronggal We stayed at the Tangalooma Dolphin Resort for three nights.

Quadbikeriders_1 On the first day, we explored some hills, scenic look out on the island and sand dunes on the quad bike.Quadhelmet_1  It is my favourite activity on the island, but it is not cheap. We pay $58 for an hour of it. Then in the evening, we took part in the daily dolphin feeding at 6pm,Dolphins_1  which is complimentary to all Tangalooma’s guests. There are about 8 dolphins which regular the Tangalooma beach. They are totally wild and really adorable as they line up along the beach every evening, at the same time, Dolphins in the same order waiting for their feast.

The second day was dampened by the intermittent showers throughout the day. We only managed to do a little archery in between the rain. Benny and the other three did a little canoeing while I relax in the villa to avoid the gloomy weather. I find no motivation to do water sports in this cold and grey weather.

Boatingcamera Our last day was really exciting, as we had booked a little dingy in the Shipwreackmorning at 9am to explore the ship wrecks and do a little fishing. The sky was a lot clearer, though still kind of overcast. Initially we had some problem with our dingy. We were stranded shortly after setting out (engine died) and had to paddle our way back in shore. We had our fuel tank changed and we were good to go again. I managed to catch the first fish and Zac got another one shortly after. Fish They were just little ones, so we released them back into the waters. However, we had good fun.

We had a brief lunch and a short rest before heading out for the Coloured_sandDesert Safari tour I had booked the day before. The sand dunes was covered with a shallow layer of almost white sand, but if you dig just about few inches down, you will see a wide variety of coloured sands. The amazing thing is that you can find very distinct variety of colours within a small area. As seen on the picture, we collected about 6 different coloured sand, and that was within a 10×10 meters square. We were really excited Sandsurfers and looking forward for this as we get to do some sand tobogganing as well. (sand boarding) Moreton_031This reminded me of the time we tried to do it with torn out cardboard boxes in Fraser. We failed so terribly and it was funny. But this time, we had proper taboganing borads! woohoo….We took a ride into the sand dunes and had to climb a huge hill to get to the top. *sweat! But anyway, I did 3 rounds and it was really thrilling! Absolutely loved it. The hill is about 150 Sandtaboganing meters and we went downhill at a speed of about 45km/h. AWESOME!Benmel_suntan
<–Can you see me?

We checked out the next morning at 9am. (Thursday)

Can’t wait to see Moreton Island this coming Monday. Been planning and looking forward to it for the longest time and it is finally inview. We will be there for 4 days. Heard there are quite a bit to do there. The stormy weather in the past week was a bit worrying, but today’s clear sky and high temperature is starting to look promising! woohooo

Can’t wait to feed some dolphins, ride on quad bike and do some archery.

Felix The Cat

June 25th, 2005 by meleo

My house is located in Paddington, Brisbane. It is a beautiful suburb with rich history and lots of cafes with beautiful food. In my house there are four tenants! erm………. maybe four and a half?

Actually, Felix is a part time tenant now. Rupertfelix_005 He is a 3 months old, black and white kitten that belongs to the house in front of us, but he has been spending far too much time at our place to be called theirs. He seems more like our housemate than theirs. He is a free roaming cat who enjoys making his daily round in the neighbourhood and playing with the occupants of the neighbouring houses.

Felix_009

He eats two meals a day. (I’m not sure how many meals a kitten should have a day actually) Sleepyhead He sleeps with Benny and meBolster  in our bed, sometimes snuggling up to my face and do some rubba. He doesn’t like being alone at all. He is a very manja kitten that lFelix_003oves snuggling and petting. Fel3He had been trained by me to sit and wait while I prepare his food, and sit at his meal spot when the food is ready to be served. His favourite toy is a tennis ball and a blue bottle cap that belongs to my foot spray. (hahaha yeah) The funny thing is, he shits only and only in my spa.

We all love him dearly and Benny is obssessed with him. Too bad he is not exactly ours. But I guess that’s alright, since we cannot keep a pet now as we are not sure how long we will stay in Australia. We have a part time one. :p

Finally over

-Misread-

June 7th, 2005 by meleo

So what if you had been misconstrued for what you really are, and so what if they judged you for what you have done? They have their freedom, and similarly you have your rights to be who you want to be. So do not whinge when people talk. Do not be confused  by the repercussions of your own undertakings. For every action, there is a relative reaction. You have turned a deaf ear, so now you have to brave up to meet your own consequences. Do not do it if you can’t face the repercussions. Think before you act. Think of how people would read you if you care about your own reputation. I know many people always say that they do not care about what people think, and they like to be themselves, but words do hurt don’t they? If you feel something when people judge you, and you felt the bite, then stand back and think about your actions. Perhaps they had been over judgemental, but perhaps they could be right.

It’s WINTER

June 3rd, 2005 by meleo

It’s officially winter in JUNE. woohoooo

A season for the nice coats, jumpers and what not. But Brisbane’s got nice weather generally. Even winter noons can be pretty warm, the temperature only falls drastically in the evening. That’s when the bone chattering winds blow. It’s a beautiful winter day today. Went to uni and spent my entire afternoon there doing some work. My dear housemate made me some yummy pasta for dinner today.

OK I’m just bored after watching Big Brother. Ought to be doing some work or studying, but my head is falling off my shoulder pretty soon. Good nite and sweet dreams…. i better hit the sack.

News Report

May 20th, 2005 by meleo

Hmm…. I was told that the news on Brisbane Hail was broadcast on CH8 news tonight.

Today’s news headline was all about the Hail we had last night. Apparently it is a really rare sight. Even the locals don’t get to see this often. It is their third hail storm of such magnitude in history, and the last hail storm happened more than 20 years ago. Though there are 3 or 4 hail fall a year in Brisbane, there is nothing quite like this one we had last night.
